Principal’s Weekly Update—Week of October 9

Greetings!

The district has launched a new web site, which means that our school website will now have a different address. Please bookmark this address. The new site is  still very much a district work in progress (and does not yet include new staff), however, I will continue to keep the Calendar section up to date with our events here at school.

Open House

It was wonderful to see so many families at our Open House last week. What a delightful evening! If you were not able to get your family photo taken and would like to be included in our family photo display, you can stop in at the office before or after school, and we’ll make sure to take a photo to add to the community showing! We’ll get all the photos up the week of parent conferences. Thanks to our fabulous Mrs. Tompkins for the creative set up outside by our new outdoor classroom and for taking all the photos! I included a photo of the set up for our family photographs and also a picture of Ms. Hope (our garden educator) beginning a recent session with Mrs. Ramsden’s class. We all love our new outdoor space.

Parent Conferences

Teachers are looking forward to meeting with parents during the week of October 23. Every day that week is an early release day for students with a 12:20 dismissal. Thank you to parents who signed up for a conference during Open House. If you were not able to make an appointment, please call the school office. Thank you!

Other than Open House, other exciting happenings last week were the completion of our new water found/water bottle filling station! Everyone loves it. Also, we had an unusual visitor on our playground—a praying mantis!
