Principal Madden’s Weekly Update—Week of September 23
Photos
We have been having wonderful days at school! I’ve included some photos of forest explorers, gardeners (check out all the weeds dug up on Friday), cider makers (thank you to the Silverman/Garretson Family!) guinea pig visits, and some beautiful artwork created in art class. Also, I included photos from our wonderful PTO Ice Cream Social. Ed Pop was a big hit!
Open House
Our Open House will take place on Wednesday, September 25 from 6-7. This is an excellent opportunity to celebrate learning, meet your child’s teachers, and take a tour of our wonderful school. We also hope all families will have their photos taken for our hallway display of family photos. Family photos will be taken outside by our gazebo. Come early so you don’t have to wait in line! Also, please sign up for a Parent/Teacher Conference. There will be a sign-up sheet in the library. The Scholastic Book Fair will take place from 5:30-7:30 in the gym. This book fair supports our fabulous PTO. We look forward to seeing you and hope that you will leave feeling excited about the upcoming school year!
Academic Information Night
October 3 (5:30-6:30) Parents have been requesting a time to hear more about curriculum and classroom information…so here it is! See the attached flyer for more information.

Our Grab and Go Breakfasts seem to be a big hit! Many children are taking advantage of the free and yummy breakfast in the classroom. I attached a flyer with more information if you are interested.

Monday, September 23: The Autumnal Equinox (first day of fall) Celebration (Thank you to those who donated apples!)
Tuesday, September 24: School Photo Day–Call the office if you have any questions. All students will receive a class photo regardless of whether or not you decide to order a photo package.
Wednesday, September 25: Open House (6-7) and PTO Book Fair (5:30-7:30)
Thursday, October 3: Title 1 Annual Meeting (5:00-5:30)
Thursday, October 3: Academic Information Night (5:30-6:30)
Friday, October 4: Early Dismissal at 12:20 (Teacher Work Day)
Monday, October 14: No School
Wednesday, October 16: PTO Meeting at 6:30
Every Day Week of October 21: Early Dismissal (12:20) for Parent/Teacher Conferences
