Principal Madden’s Weekly Update—Week of August 26
Welcome to a new school year! I am honored to begin another year as the principal of R.K. Finn Ryan Road Elementary School! I hope families had happy summers and are ready for another great year here at school.
I hope that everyone received the summer mailing with information for the upcoming school year. If not, please call the school office so that we can make sure you get a copy.
I send Weekly Messages at the beginning of every week. Please make sure to get on our email list so that you do not miss any communication. The updates are also put on our school website.

I always include a few photos from the past week at school. For this update, I included some new additions to our school.
Our Buddy Bench has been installed, and I added a wonderful poster that one of our Student Leaders made to explain what a Buddy Bench is.
I also included a photo from part of our new sensory/activity hallway outside the gym and Nurse Lisa’s office.
Also, our new sign and cafeteria tables are here. Yea!
Important Upcoming Dates
Wednesday, August 26: First Day of School (for grades 1-5)!
Monday, September 2: No School (Labor Day)
Tuesday, September 3: First day of school for Kindergarten!
Wednesday, September 18: No School (Professional Development)
Wednesday, September 18: 6:00-7:30 There is no school on this day, but please plan to come to school for our PTO’s Ice Cream Social! Kids can enjoy being entertained by Ed. Pop, the magician, and caregivers can learn more about our fabulous PTO. Everyone is welcome! Yum and fun!
Tuesday, September 24: School Photo Day
Wednesday, September 25: Open House (6-7) and PTO Book Fair (5:30-7:30)
