Principal Madden’s Weekly Update—Week of April 13, 2020

Dear Families/Caregivers,

I hope you are all hanging in there during this challenging time. It is terrible to not be in our normal school routine, and I’m sure many of you are really struggling. I’m attaching the Community Resources document that I sent another time, just in case you are facing new difficulties.

Also, the food information is attached again.

Many families that I have spoken to talk about the importance of staying on some kind of schedule to help keep everyone in the house sane.

I get little bursts of joy when I see some of you riding bikes around the parking lot or doing a drive by “hello” while in my office. I miss you all very much.

Our staff (with the amazing help of our Technology Integration Specialist, Rocky Mariani-Prall) put together a fun little video for your children. Please share it with them.

Here it is!

I also thought I’d start sharing a read aloud in my Weekly Update that you can share with your children if you think they would like it. This week’s book is Chicken Sunday, by Patricia Polacco.

I hope you are finding the Distance Learning Plans and communication from teachers helpful. Everyone is trying to figure out this new way of teaching and learning, and nobody thinks it is perfect, but our teachers have been working hard to find ways to enrich and engage your children and to stay in touch with families. Please let us know if you need anything.

Stay up to date (under normal circumstances!) with all of our school activities on our School Website’s Calendar!

I hope that all families feel welcome, comfortable, and valued at our school. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Sarah Madden, Principal
