While I doubt that any of you believe in the box-score approach to education or judging schools solely on the basis of the statewide assessment system, it is still nice to receive unsought recognition. As I am sure many of you know, U.S. News and World Report has long been ranking colleges, universities, and high schools. According to their ranking system, Smith College is #17 in National Liberal Arts Colleges and Northampton High School is the sixth-ranked high school in the Springfield Metro Area. In their first-ever attempt to rank elementary schools, Ryan Road was ranked 224 of 964 elementary schools in MA, earning it a distinction as a U.S. News Best Elementary School.
We recently published our first-ever rankings of public elementary schools, and the news is good for R. K. Finn Ryan Road: Your school placed among the top 30% of elementary schools in the state of Massachusetts, making it a U.S. News Best Elementary School. Here’s a look at what we published about your school, including its new ranking(s): https://www.usnews.com/education/k12/massachusetts/badge-eligible-school-246881.
Your school’s high rank means it is eligible to display a U.S. News-trademarked Best Elementary School’s award “badge” (logo). Permission to use the badge in any medium must be obtained from BrandConnex, our promotional agent. BrandConnex has created a convenient online store where highly ranked schools can purchase customized plaques and banners featuring the badge. You can also buy a license that provides permission to display the badge on your school’s website, social media, signage, apparel and a variety of other locations.
You can find more information about U.S. News Best Elementary Schools – including methodology, badge eligibility, promotional options, and how to access the rankings – on this Best Schools information page.
