Northampton Teacher Recognized in the Fenway Bowl Honor Roll

Northampton High School Teacher Melissa Power-Greene was honored recently in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl. As one of 200 nominated across the New England states, Melissa’s work with high school students has landed her a top slot as an exceptional New England teacher. Melissa has been noted going above and beyond the traditional work of a classroom teacher and really valuing the whole student as they present in her classroom. She works hard to be sure all the needs of the student are met both emotionally and academically. She has been noted as finding ways to secure glasses, and drivers ed spots for her students. She is also an ally for people in the LGBTQ community as well as continuously fighting institutional racism. Noted on her sports card, “She is a phenomenal educator & a spectacular human being.”

The Wasabi Fenway Bowl is a charitable organization and effort that has been a collaboration of a number of organizations working together to recognize exceptional teachers. To read more about Melissa, and other exceptional teachers, click the link HERE.
