NHS Students Win C-SPAN Documentary Award

StudentCam 2018 - Winners

C-SPAN is pleased to announce the 150 prize winning documentaries in C-SPAN’s 2018 StudentCam competition. After much deliberation and multiple rounds of judging, the following documentaries have been selected as this year’s award winning entries.

This year we received 2,985 films from over 5,700 students – the most entries in the fourteen years of the competition. Entries came from 46 states, as well as Washington DC, Taiwan and the United Arab Emirates.

Prize winning filmmakers and teachers will be contacted via email with more information regarding their win. C-SPAN television network will air each of the second prize, first prize, and grand prize winning documentaries at 6:50am ET during the month of April. See below for the documentary air-dates of the top 22.

We would like to thank all of the participants for the incredible amount of effort that went into making this our most competitive StudentCam competition yet. We recognize and appreciate the vast amount of research and time that went into creating your documentaries. Many of you invested weeks or even months in planning, researching, filming, and editing your work. As judges, we truly enjoy viewing each and every submission and hearing your perspectives on how the Constitution relates to you and your region of the country. You are to be commended for your outstanding efforts and even if you did not win one of the 150 prizes listed below, please be on the lookout later this spring for a gift in the mail as a small token of our appreciation.

Thank you again for participating and we hope those of you with remaining eligibility will consider participating in StudentCam 2019, launching at the beginning of the new school year. Congratulations to all!
